what they dont teach in driving school

it has been several months since i last posted an entry on this blog..

guess i got tired of pointless debates that never lead to a tangible solution..

i have an idea though: since i recently started working in makati, i’ve been spending 1/3 my salary on gas and 1/8 my day on the road. I was traumatized already just by the thought of me having no choice but to be part of the rush hour traffic every weekday for at least a year and as long as im in this office. Most traffic build ups we experience are not caused by mere volume of vehicles. It’s caused by people’s lack of respect for each other, lack of ethics and lack of foresight and simple cause and effect analysis. Im not saying we’re all stupid. But we don’t realize that sometimes, the cause of traffic is us.

So for as long as i can keep it up, im dedicating this blog to my personal advocacy: making the filipino people ethical motorists. i will post unwritten rules in driving that they don’t teach in driving school. they aren’t based on any scheme of the mmda or the makati mafia, este mapsa. these are all derived from simple ethics and respect for another human being and their personal space, and simple cause and effect.

i hope a lot of people read this and learn a stuff or two.. now, im not saying im the authority on ethical driving. i just want to inform people on what i think is right. So if anyone finds some of my ‘rules’ debatable, post a reply and let’s discuss it! after all, we’re all for what im fighting for right?
